Job Description

Salary: £55,000–£65,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus performance-related bonus.
Location: Manchester.
Working pattern: Full-time, predominantly Monday to Friday, hotel based.
Key responsibilities:
Full financial management and oversight of hotel operations.
Preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections.
Financial reporting to ownership, senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Monitoring profitability, departmental performance, payroll and operating costs.
Oversight of financial controls, compliance, purchasing and procurement.
Working closely with the General Manager and Commercial Director to maximise profitability and operational efficiency.
Developing robust financial systems, reporting procedures and internal controls.

Essential experience:
Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Director of Finance or equivalent senior financial position within a sizeable hotel operation.
Strong understanding of hotel accounting, revenue management and departmental profitability.
Experience with Marriott and/or Hilton financial reporting standards would be particularly advantageous.
Strong leadership, analytical and commercial skills.
Experience with hotel PMS (Opera and PEP) and financial reporting systems, preferably Opera Cloud.
Relevant accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) preferred.

Ready to take ownership of the hotel’s financial operations and play a key role in driving the long-term success of the business. This is a pivotal position for a finance professional who can bring structure, robust financial controls, and strategic insight while remaining closely involved in the day-to-day operation.
We are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong financial leadership within established hotel environments with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful individual will be comfortable working within an owner-operated business, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to improve performance, maximise profitability, and support future growth.
This role would suit a commercially astute finance leader who can balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, providing accurate financial reporting, driving cost control initiatives, improving processes, and delivering meaningful insights that influence business decisions.

In addition to supporting the Manchester operation, the role will be involved across a growing hospitality portfolio, including an established London hotel, a major Manchester hotel opening planned for 2027, and a significant London co-living development scheduled to open in 2028. This offers a unique opportunity to contribute to multiple high-profile assets and play a key role in the financial direction of an expanding business
