What You Will Be Doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, your duties will include:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of food
• Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties
• Helping to prepare meals and food items as required
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Assisting with food service during school meal times
• Following food safety, health and safety procedures
• Ensuring food is handled, stored and prepared safely
• Working effectively as part of the wider catering team

Requirements

To be considered for this Kitchen Assistant position, you will need:

• Previous experience in a Kitchen Assistant, catering or food service role is desirable
• Enhanced DBS – required
• 2 references – required
• Food Safety Level 2 Certificate – required or willingness to obtain
• Food Allergen Certificate – required or willingness to obtain
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling
• Excellent reliability and timekeeping
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy school environment
• A professional and responsible approach when working within a school
