Chef Manager – Oxfordshire – £18.00 to £24.00 per hour

Berkeley Scott is recruiting experienced Chef Managers and School Chefs for immediate temporary agency work across Oxfordshire. We have a number of opportunities available within schools, colleges and education catering sites and are looking for experienced Chef Managers, Catering Managers, Head Chefs and School Chefs who can confidently step into a busy kitchen environment.

This is temporary agency work, with immediate starts and a mixture of ongoing and flexible assignments available. Many of our school catering roles offer Monday to Friday, daytime hours, providing an excellent work-life balance alongside competitive hourly rates.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals within a school or education environment
• Managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen and catering service
• Leading and supporting kitchen and catering teams
• Menu planning, preparation and portion control
• Managing allergens, dietary requirements and special diets
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and HACCP compliance
• Stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation
• Ensuring consistently high standards of food quality and presentation

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience as a Chef Manager, School Chef, Catering Manager, Head Chef or experienced Sous Chef
• Experience within school catering, education, contract catering or high-volume catering is desirable
• Enhanced DBS preferred, ideally registered on the Update Service
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate
• Food Allergen certificate
• Strong knowledge of food safety, allergens and dietary requirements
• Confident managing a kitchen and leading a catering team
• Reliable, professional and comfortable working across different catering environments
• Available for immediate and upcoming agency assignments
