 Catering Manager – visitor centre – West Yorkshire

As Catering Manager you will be in charge of all outlets and events.  This is an exciting company and interesting concept with lots of variation to the role. 

Key to the role is a strong team ethic, a focus on communication, and a creative approach to help the organisation find new and more effective ways of working. Engaging with our dedicated volunteers will be key to the success of the new role.  Your job purpose will be, with the Business and Ops Manager, develop a catering plan (short and longer term) and then ensure smooth and safe daily operation of the catering outlets.  The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and a passion for hospitality, ensuring that catering operations are safe, efficient and profitable

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all food hygiene certification and training is completed and strictly adhered to in order to maintain our 5 star rating.
  • Maintain hygiene standards 
  • Maintain relevant health and safety records, store/display correctly and archive
  • Co-ordination of catering activities including, food preparation, menus, manage stock levels, managing the team
  • Develop the catering strategy to support commercial growth and visitor engagement
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through innovative food and beverage offerings

What we need from you

  • Food Hygiene Level 3 certificate.
  • Understanding of safe food handling policies and procedures and dietary restrictions
  • Knowledge of FSA business guidance
  • Experience of working to a budget.
  • Experience of running a profitable catering operation.
  • Experience of running a kitchen including cooking meals to a high standard.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a range of audiences
  • A UK driving license and access to a car
  • The job is a physical one with lifting etc.
