Berkeley Scott Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced Catering Assistants to join our team for the new school year starting in September.

Working in partnership with our client, Impact Food Group, we have a range of Catering Assistant opportunities available across schools in the [Area].

As a Catering Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Supporting the Chef, Catering Manager and wider kitchen team
  • Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold food
  • Serving meals to children while working closely with teachers and care staff
  • Operating tills and handling payments where required
  • Cleaning down kitchen and dining areas at the end of service
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Following all food safety and food allergen procedures at all times
  • Keeping food service areas clean, organised and fully stocked
  • Working alongside school staff to deliver an efficient catering service

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Catering Assistant (experience within education is desirable but not essential)
  • A Food Safety and Food Allergen qualification, or willingness to complete one
  • An Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List, or willingness to obtain one
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to work well in a busy catering environment
  • A positive, reliable and professional attitude
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for delivering excellent service and supporting busy catering operations
