Assistant Manager

Cambridge 

£32,000 per annum + Overtime

We are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Asistant Manager/Supervisor to join the catering and hospitality team at a prestigious historic Cambridge College.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional hospitality individual with strong supervisory experience to play a key role in delivering exceptional food and beverage service across the College’s dining rooms, formal events, conferences and functions.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you will act as a shift leader, supervising Staff while taking day-to-day responsibility for the smooth and efficient delivery of food and drink service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supervising and supporting Staff to maintain exceptional service standards
  • Delivering high-quality food and beverage service to Fellows, Students and guests
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Servery, including stock control and ordering
  • Coordinating service requirements for formal dining, conferences and events
  • Liaising closely with the kitchen and Conference & Events teams
  • Supporting staff rotas, induction and training
  • Ensuring excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety and COSHH compliance
  • Managing bookings, service details and billing information accurately

The Person

We are looking for a calm, professional and highly organised hospitality professional with supervisory experience in hotels/venues/restaurants/private members clubs

  • Excellent food and beverage service knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding standards
  • The ability to remain calm, efficient and positive under pressure
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, allergens and special dietary requirements
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to manage bookings and till systems
  • Flexibility to work a shift pattern including some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays

Salary & Benefits

£32,000 per annum, depending on experience

  • Full-time role averaging 40 hours per week plus paid overtime
  • 25 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Free meals whilst on duty
