Kitchen Assistant – School Catering

Stafford | Immediate Start | Weekly Pay | £12.71–£14.00 per hour

What You Will Be Doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of food
  • Supporting the kitchen team with day-to-day catering duties
  • Helping with the cleaning of kitchen equipment, surfaces and work areas
  • Washing up and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Assisting with food service during school meal times
  • Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times
  • Supporting the wider catering team when required
  • Ensuring food is handled, stored and prepared safely

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working as a Kitchen Assistant, catering assistant or in a similar food service environment is desirable
  • Enhanced DBS – required for this role
  • Two references required
  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate – required or willingness to obtain
  • Food Allergen Certificate – required or willingness to obtain
  • A good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling
  • Reliability and good timekeeping
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • The ability to work in a busy school catering environment
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach when working around children and school staff
