Role Overview:

Are you ready to take your career to new heights? We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Guest Accommodation Manager to join our vibrant team! If you have a passion for maintaining top-tier accommodation standards and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, this is the opportunity for you. In this role, you’ll be closely working with our dedicated housekeeping team and teh reception team to guarantee smooth operations and an exceptional experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and elevate accommodation quality to the highest standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Work with reception team to deliver great service
  • Collaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness, order, and attention to detail.
  • Set and uphold customer service standards that align with guest expectations and satisfaction.
  • Manage budgets effectively and keep fixed costs in check; experience with contracts is a plus.
  • Oversee mobilizations, including the opening and closing of accommodation facilities.
  • Streamline room turnover processes for maximum efficiency and reduced downtime.
  • Develop and execute strategies to convert student accommodation into high-quality hotel rooms, ensuring the transition is seamless and cost-effective.

Strategy for Transitioning Student Accommodation to Hotel Rooms:

  • Design and Renovation Plan: Revise the layout and design of student rooms to cater to hotel guests by incorporating hotel-grade amenities such as premium bedding, functional furniture, and quality appliances.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the accommodation meets or exceeds hotel-specific health and safety regulations (fire safety, emergency exits, etc.) by reviewing current standards and making necessary adjustments.
  • Guest Services Expansion: Incorporate essential hotel services, such as 24-hour reception, concierge, and daily housekeeping, to elevate the guest experience.
  • Branding and Marketing: Rebrand the accommodation to appeal to hotel guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere with a professional aesthetic that conveys the shift in purpose from student living to hotel stays.
  • Operational Transition: Adapt room turnover and maintenance schedules to accommodate higher guest turnover and ensure rapid cleaning and readiness between stays.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong understanding of accommodation management and quality standards.
  • Expertise in compliance, health, and safety regulations, particularly in hospitality settings.
  • Experience working in the public sector is advantageous.
  • Proficient in budgeting, cost control, and managing fixed costs.
  • Skilled in mobilizations, room turnover processes, and efficient operational strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise with various stakeholders.
